Medaille College Receives Grant to Continue Science in Bloom Program

Buffalo, NY (03/29/2024) — Medaille College has received a $90,000 grant from the Cullen Foundation to continue its Science in Bloom program. Medaille will again operate the program, which features undergraduate students as mentors, in conjunction with the Valley Community Association (VCA).

Science in Bloom, the only program of its kind in the area, aims to foster a lifelong interest in science. It provides youths with the opportunity to dissect specimens, journal, develop questions and discuss answers under Medaille students' guidance. Science in Bloom takes place on Medaille's Buffalo campus and at the Valley Community Center.

Through its partnership with the Valley Community Association, Medaille is uniquely equipped to provide science education that prepares Buffalo's young people for roles in the city's ongoing economic renewal.
